Holiday Recipes for all to Enjoy

Holiday Punch Slush

Ingredients:
freshly squeezed lemon juice from 3 average sized lemons
2 cups of sugar
1 cup of water
1 tbs of almond extract
1/2 large can of pineapple juice
1 box of strawberry or raspberry flavored jello
approximately 1/2 gal of water

1. First boil the 2 cups of sugar and one cup of water to a full rolling boil and mix well. Then set the sugar mixture to to the side and let cool to room temperature.

2. Prepare the jello as directed on package except do NOT place in fridge to cool and gel. Then set that to the side to let cool to room temperature.

3. Shake the can of pineapple juice well before opening. Then mix 1/2 the can with the almond extract and freshly squeezed lemon juice in a gallon sized pitcher that is safe to freeze once all ingredients have been added.

4. After the jello and sugar mixture have cooled to room temp then add to the pitcher and mix all ingredients well. 

5. Add the remaining water to equal 1 gallon and mix well.

6. Freeze for 24 hrs

7. After frozen take out and use an ice pick to make to slush consistency and enjoy the burst of flavors!  

Banana Split Pie  

Ingredients:
1 pkg of jello brand vanilla pudding pie filling
1 small can of eagle brand condensed milk
2 pkgs of graham crackers crushed to fine consistency
2 tbs sugar
5 tbs melted butter
small jar of maraschino cherries(optional)
approximately 1 tbs of fine crushed pecan pieces(optional)
5 medium bananas sliced
1 can of crushed pineapple (drained)
1 small container of cool whip

1. Crush 2 pkgs of graham crackers until fine consistency. Then mix 2 tbs of sugar with the crackers and place in the bottom of  9x13 pan to prepare crust.

2. Add 5 tbs of melted butter to graham cracker mixture and mix well. You should be able to form the crust to the pan evenly. If you are not or it is too dry then add another tbs of butter until you are able to. The crust should not be liquid form. You can use a spoon to press the cracker mixture evenly to the bottom and side of the pan.  

3. Prepare the pudding mixture as directed on the pkg EXCEPT when it calls for 3 cups of milk only use 2 cups and add the eagle brand sweet condensed milk as the 3rd cup of milk. Set aside and let cool

4. Cover the graham cracker crust with drained crushed pineapple as the bottom layer of the pie.

5. Add the vanilla pudding as the next layer of the pie.

7. Cover banana layer with cool whip

8. Add cherries and sprinkle with crushed pecan pieces if desired
